Trauma, Abuse, and PTSD

The first step in dealing with trauma and abuse is to recognize its impact. It's important for survivors of trauma to assume that the distress they are experiencing may be triggered in the present by physical, emotional, or sexual abuse from the past.

Neglect, domestic violence, rape, assault, accidents, and natural disasters also contribute to the causes of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). When trauma has been ongoing or involves multiple perpetrators, complex PTSD may develop which deeply impacts a person's life.

Carolyn's experience with trauma survivors is that you can and do recover. Many experience rapid relief with EMDR, Hypnotherapy, Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, Sensorimotor, and other gentle healing methods which help to clear the roots of the traumatic past, creating freedom from symptoms.
